Universitys South Asian studies community by becoming a Friend

of the latest developments in current research, publications, teaching
and cultural and public affairs programs via the quarterly South
Asia Newsletter. You will also receive invitations to major events
and activities; an updated list of all who have earned a Ph.D. in
South Asian Studies at the University of Chicago; and periodic calendars
of activities.In conjunction with
your membership in the Friends of South Asia at Chicago, you may
also join the Friends of the Library, a membership which allows
you to use the University's outstanding South Asia Collection. The distinguished program
on Southern Asian Studies at the University of Chicago took five
decades to build. Generous private funding helped to enable that
growth. Your support is vital to the future of South Asia at Chicago.
We urge you to consider a gift to a program that is adapting to
a changing intellectual and political milieu while preserving the
strengths accumulated through years of research and teaching. Your
